Maybe you can only chose 10-20 greens you like? Though there are some normal golds I like for design..:> Razorclaw I'm partial too.

I agree that the weapons monument implementation seems ridiculously poor; there needs to be a greater variety of weapons allowed in there. I think with the HoM Anet is generally thinking too much about how monuments will be inherited because Gaile's responses on some of the HoM complaints so far (not being account based) largely come from the inheritance point of view. They should be more concerned about making the HoM an appreciated aspect of the game independent of GW2.

Most people would rather show off the weapons they've already aquired, the stuff they've accumulated and bonded with over the past 2+ years, than this small selection of weapons. I really hope they open up the weapon monument and I'm considering boycotting the HoM until they do.

considering that from the very first mention of the hall it has been advertised as a way to bridge some accomplishments into GW2.

inheritance is its only reason for even being there

they said you could visit your hall and even invite friends in to see it.

a few people like you have turned the hall from the transfer to GW2 that was stated as it only reason for existing into a monument to me instead.

NOTICE

GWEN IS A GAME

HOM IS A MINOR FEATURE SOME PEOPLE MAY USE 2 YEARS FROM NOW

it is not an aspect of the game as i have been playing and not touched it except for Gwen/scrying pool reruns

they could close the door on it until GW2 and not affect gameplay at all as it will not be needed until then

and the sad thing is that those don't even look that great. i've been asking around all day and so far everyone has told me the same - nothing else (so far) works in the valor monument.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I'm sorry to say that I find your objections to my opinion to be laughable. Although I doubt I can say anything to you to modify your opinion, but I'll reply to you since you were addressing me in your post.

We're talking about something called the "Hall of Monuments". It's main purpose is to literally "immortalize" a character's accomplishments and gear, so it's pretty nonsensical for you to suggest that it's not meant to be... a monument of your character's accomplishments. I agree with you that it probably wouldn't exist if not for GW2, but to say that it's only about inheritance is silly because if that were the case they could have implemented inheritance without creating a HoM location. Furthermore, we've been reminded in each bit of news on the HoM that we can invite our friends to view ours. Thereby we've clearly been encouraged to use it for something other than inheritance: for displaying our accomplishments to our friends.

lol, ok we'll call it a feature if you don't want me to call it an aspect of the game. Pardon me for using the wrong terminology for you. And how ironic that, like me, you also are not using the hall of monuments for anything but npcs and the scrying pool . You, of course, are correct to say that it doesn't affect gameplay, if it did it certainly would be much harder for me to not use it.

Me too, which is another reason why I haven't been paying much attention to it other than expressing my opinions about the way it works. But part of the function of these forums is for people to discuss their thoughts on the new expansion so I've excercised my liberty to share my opinions on the HoM. I don't regret buying the game because of any disappointments. The fun of playing through the storyline has exceeded my expectations, and I'm very content in that regard . I would have bought the expansion regardless of if it contained a HoM or not. But I'm sharing my opinion on the HoM's shortcomings because that's what this thread is all about and I have sympathy for people like the OP who are sad because they can't put their high end weapons into the HoM.

You have got to be kidding me. How some of you actually think its going to stay this way.

Some of you feel elite weapons are Tormented..... Destroyer..... GREENS !!!!

While some of us feel The real elite weapons are the r7 15^50 's and the r7 perfect shields etc. Tyrian perfects. Unconditionals.

Items worth 100k +100 - 500 ectos.

Either way: What 1 person calls elite is up to them.

This will be fixed and you will be able to display and get back in return in GW2 whatever weapons u want.

OR.... GW1 and GW2 will die.
GW2 will not even get off the ground.

we can only hope it changes, right? and it's funny how there's no word from anet as of yet as to the limited functionality of this monument.

As far as the game is concerned nothing is worth that much... Req 9 perfect gold sundering storm bow, game values it at 347 gold...

How is the game supposed to know what ridiculous price you were prepared to pay for a good looking weapon that barely anyone will ever see?

I'm guessing Destroyer Weapons are valued at 0 like quite a lot of the 'reward' items in GW:EN.

At the very least, the Valor monument needs to accept greens.

Shit sucks as it is right now...
